Are You or Someone You Know in Need of Support?

If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity, or food insecurity, we are here to help. Whether you need a place to stay, a hot meal, or someone to walk alongside you on your journey, we are here for you.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, experiencing a medical emergency, or requires urgent police, fire, or ambulance assistance, please call 911 immediately.
 

Cold Lake John Howard Society is not an emergency response service.

Everyone deserves to be met with dignity and without judgment. 

Our confidential, recovery-oriented services respect each person’s choices, circumstances and goals.

Homelessness is a deeply personal experience, and the path toward stable housing looks different for every person. There is no single cause, solution or timeline.

 

The Cold Lake John Howard Society provides a continuum of compassionate, practical support designed to meet people where they are and help them move toward greater safety, stability and independence.

Our services include overnight shelter, meals, showers, laundry, clothing and basic necessities, as well as support navigating housing, healthcare, income assistance, identification, treatment, legal systems and other community resources.

 

Emergency Shelter: 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
Outreach Day Program: 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Community Meals: 7:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Our current service hours reflect the funding and resources available to the organization. While we recognize that homelessness and housing instability are not limited to certain hours, our ability to provide on-site support is currently limited to the hours listed above. As funding and capacity allow, we will continue working to strengthen and expand the supports available in our community.

Cold Lake John Howard Society acknowledges that we operate on Treaty 6 Territory, a traditional gathering place for diverse Indigenous peoples including the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Iroquois, Dene, Ojibway/Saulteaux/ Anishinaabe, and Inuit. We respect the histories, languages, and cultures of First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and all First Peoples of Canada who enrich our community. We continue to explore our relationship to the land and reflect on what it means to be Treaty people.

 

We are dedicated to addressing Indigenous homelessness through our partnerships which benefit Indigenous clients, as well as clients facing barriers due to their ethnicity, gender, and sexuality.

 

There is much work to be done to close these gaps and move towards reconciliation. We are committed to providing support and resources to ensure that everyone in our city has a safe place to call home.
